Instructions for Student Applications For AASHE 2017

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) holds a conference that brings sustainability professionals, faculty, and students from across the world together every year. In 2017, the premiere higher education sustainability conference will be in San Antonio, Texas y’all!

The Texas A&M Office of Sustainability is sponsoring registrations for up to THREE Aggie students to attend the conference from 10/15/2017 – 10/18/2017.

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at TAMU – College Station
  • Have a GPA greater than or equal to 2.5
  • Be in good standing with the University and your academic department

How to Apply:

  • Submit a Current Resume (No longer than two (2) pages) that includes major/minor, anticipated graduation date, GPA, phone number, and email address
  • Submit the Application Form
  • Send Resume and Application Form electronically to sustainability@tamu.edu; use the subject line: “AASHE Student Scholarship 2017”
    • Save documents as Microsoft Word or PDF. Title your documents following this format: First Name Last Name Resume, First Name Last Name Application; if turned in as one file, title as: First Name Last Name

The Scholarship Includes:

  • AASHE Conference registration fee
  • Attendance to student summit, all conference sessions, including opening/closing/keynote addresses, vendor exhibits, poster session (Does not include pre/post conference workshops)
  • Meals provided during the conference (e.g. breakfast/lunch/vendor breaks)

The Scholarship Does Not Include:

  • Travel/Transportation Fees
  • Housing
  • Non-conference meals

Requirements if Granted Scholarship:

  1. Attend the Student Summit on Sunday, all conference session timeslots for Monday & Tuesday, the Poster Session, the Opening and Closing receptions, and all Keynotes
  2. Attend the TRACS (Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability) Networking session
  3. Complete a Reflection Assignment due 11/1/2017 to sustainability@tamu.edu
  4. Provide two (2) to four (4) photos of yourself at the conference
  5. Sign photo-release form; report & photographs may be published
  6. If you are no longer able to attend AASHE, you will be expected to notify sustainability@tamu.edu by 10/2/2017

 

Applications open on Monday, September 4th and close at Noon on Friday, September 15th
