Sustainability Outreach Specialist – *Undergraduates Only*

Job Summary
Do you want to make a difference on campus while building meaningful relationships and having fun? Sustainability uses a holistic lens to investigate and problem-solve the environmental, social, and economic problems our world faces. The goal of the Office of Sustainability’s Internship Program is to bring people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives together to create a dynamic team that works to create a culture of sustainability at Texas A&M University. The team will focus on increasing the sustainability of practices such as energy and water use, transportation, food services, construction and built environment, purchasing, recycling, and social justice through the development of outreach initiatives and event coordination.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the community to create a culture of sustainability at Texas A&M University through education and outreach.
- Aid in the deployment and creation of various campus engagement platforms such as presentations, tabling, workshops, videos, outreach through social media, the Sustainability Cam, and the creation of educational media material.
- Participate, create, and lead outreach activities at events such as Campus Sustainability Day and Campus Earth Day.
- Gain experience working in a diverse team-based office setting that coordinates with all divisions and departments of campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Texas A&M working toward a bachelor's degree.
Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:
Excellent communication, teamwork, and analytical skills. Experience using word processing and presentation software. Ability to work cooperatively with others from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred skills:
Ability to demonstrate a history of incorporating sustainable practices into personal daily living. Public Speaking, educator experience, presentation experience, tabling/outreach experience, social media experience, graphic design, and videography and/or photography experience.

Office of Sustainability Graphic Design Intern
Position Information

The Graphic Design Intern will assist the Office of Sustainability (OS) in creating a culture of sustainability at Texas A&M University through graphic design. The job involves working both independently and with OS team members. The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for creating, designing, and delivering graphics and art both printed and digitally.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, designs, and creates graphics for OS, Aggie Green Fund (AGF), and Aggie Sustainability Alliance (ASA), all OS Social Media Channels, OS marketing, and OS outreach efforts.
- Support OS interns in development of graphics content.
- Adhere to TAMU, OS, AGF, and ASA branding and style guides.
- Successfully implement design feedback regarding process and graphic decisions.
- Translate strategic direction into high quality design within an established brand identity.
- Ability to communicate your design process and decisions to supervisors.

Job Summary
Sustainability is a growing field that uses a holistic lens to investigate and problem solve the environmental, social, and economic problems our world faces. As a Sustainability GANT, you will work within the Office of Sustainability in support of key programs and offerings such as the Aggie Sustainability Alliance, Aggie Green Fund, Campus Sustainability Day, and Campus Earth Day. Through these efforts, you will help conserve resources, foster social sustainability, build partnerships, implement environmental improvements, and increase sustainability education and outreach.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Assist with preparation, organization, and implementation of activities facilitated by the Office of Sustainability.
- Increase the reach of the Aggie Sustainability Alliance program through outreach and presentations to faculty/staff offices and student organizations. Support program engagement and awareness through communication channels such as a newsletter, listserv, and social media.
- Support the administration of the Aggie Green Fund and coordination of the Aggie Green Fund Advisory Committee.
- Assist with the organization, activities, and marketing of events such as Campus Sustainability Day and Campus Earth Day.
- Complete administrative tasks including reviewing data, fielding inquiries, drafting content, and coordinating meetings and tasks.

Sustainability Communications Graduate Assistant - Non-Teaching

Job Summary
The Office of Sustainability is looking for a graduate student to manage and produce digital campaigns focused on sustainability. The candidate selected will collaborate with our team to conceptualize, plan, coordinate, implement, and disseminate educational and promotional campaigns, primarily across digital platforms. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about marketing and communication with an emphasis on social media. This individual will work with our team to engage students and other campus stakeholders through media campaigns. Projects could include short videos, photo stories, and other content distributed via websites, social media platforms, email and print. Preparation will include researching, brainstorming, strategizing, designing, and collaborating with the Office of Sustainability team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively update the department’s Facebook, Instagram, and website with engaging and relevant content
- Create graphics and informational designs/layouts for use in digital and/or print media such as banners, fliers, announcements, presentations, and annual reports
- Assist with a variety of marketing and communication-related projects and tasks
- Collect content relevant to specific social media channels by attending campus events and using social media tools
- Collaborate with student interns on creating social media content
- Collaborate with student interns to market their presentations, workshops, events, etc.
- Shoot high-quality photographs and create short videos at campus events (Equipment will be provided)
- Monitor the official social media channels of other TAMU departments/organizations and share /retweet content that is engaging or relevant to our audience
- Collect and report social media analytics
- Research best practices and utilize social media scheduling and sharing tools
- Record and/or edit videos to be uploaded on the department’s YouTube channel
- Create accessible content
- Assist with special projects and office duties as necessary
- Propose and implement strategies to grow the department’s social media following
